On Friday, January 26th, the Little Britain PTO hosted their first International Night. This was a night to celebrate and welcome the many different cultures that exist within the Little Britain community. The event featured a host of different foods, drinks, music and items representing countries all around the world.
International Night was held to provide a warm and welcoming environment for students and their families of different cultural backgrounds. Families from countries like Puerto Rico, Colombia, Italy, Ghana, the Phillipines and more were able to share something special from their country with other attendees.
The night also featured performances that included Irish step dancing and a musical performance of bagpipes. Attendees even got a chance to learn a small portion of an Irish step dance on their own. Then they got a special question and answer session with the bagpipe instrumentalists.
“We have had a lot of students from many different cultures,” said Erin McEvoy, the co-president of the PTO. “So, I think that this night is important because it lets everybody celebrate their heritage, which is really important to them, and I think it makes everybody feel special.”
Thank you to the Little Britain PTO for hosting International Night and to all of the families who generously brought a little bit of their culture to share.
