Second grade builds on their reading, writing and math skills

This week second grade has been practicing their reading, writing, and math skills. Students recently read the book “Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun” by Maria Dismondy. After reading the book, they shared ways they have shown courage in their own lives. 

Students also learned a new math center called "Tic-Tac-Toe to 10," where students rolled dice, placed their numbers, and tried to get tic-tac-toe! 

In writing, students reviewed subjects and predicates to ensure they’re always writing in complete sentences. They also learned how to add drawings to their writing using basic shapes, and they were amazed at how creative they could be!
