YOUR POINT OF CONTACTS

Principal
Hello and welcome to Little Britain Elementary School! At our school, we want all students and families to feel welcome and supported. We understand that moving to a new home and school can be difficult, which is why we want to make this transition as smooth as possible for you. We have a wealth of resources available to help incoming students from Military Families, and our teachers, faculty, and staff are ready and willing to offer any assistance you may need. I am here to support your family by providing you with the necessary resources to help you adjust to our community. Please find below a list of resources that describe how we can assist your family and the resources available.

Attendance
Please contact the Attendance office if: your child will be late to school, your child will be absent, if your child will need to be picked up early, or if your child needs to take a different bus. Emails, notes, and phone calls are all acceptable forms of communication. If your dismissal plans change throughout the day, please contact Little Britain by phone as early as possible. If you haven't already, please visit the 'Attendance Policy' link on the 'For Parents' page on our website for the Comprehensive Student Attendance Policy. Here you will find more resources regarding attendance and our policies. You may also elect to let your teacher(s) and/or the Health Office know about time out of school, but please include the Attendance Office in all communications so your child's Schooltool can be promptly and properly updated. Attendance records and other educational records can be found on your SchoolTool parent account at any time.

The Attendance Office also handles records and student files. Upon assignment within Washingtonville Central School District, please visit the Registration Office website for more information on how to enroll into our district. Our district will request records from your former school as soon as you're registered. Upon withdrawal, as a military family, in New York State, you are entitled to have unofficial copies of all educational records per Chapter 328 of the Laws of 2014 - Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. You will be provided a copy of all educational records once the district Withdrawal Form (requested from any school or office) is received.

Main Office
The main office can serve as a central hub for providing information about the district, including enrollment procedures, school policies, academic programs, and extracurricular activities. They can also organize school tours for new military families when needed to familiarize them with the school facilities and meet key staff members. Even after enrollment, the main office can continue to provide support to military families throughout the school year, serving as a point of contact for any questions or concerns that may arise. Overall, the elementary main office plays a crucial role in supporting military families during both the transition into and out of the school district, helping to ensure a smooth and successful educational experience for their children.

Guidance Counselor
Access our counseling services for emotional support during challenging times related to military life. In the guidance office, we are committed to supporting and providing resources for military families. Informal lunch meetings, either individual or group, are available to ease the transition and make a connection with incoming military students. We can also provide classroom instruction on how to help new military students feel welcome and assimilate into their new environment. In addition, we can provide counseling for students in military families
